Giffels Webster Promotes John Bruno, Tony Gonzalez, and Dave Root to Partner

DETROIT – February 20, 2024 – Giffels Webster, a leading multidisciplinary firm headquartered in Detroit, Michigan and specializing in civil and traffic engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, planning, and GIS, proudly announces the promotion of three longstanding team members to partner: John Bruno, Tony Gonzalez, PS, and Dave Root, PE.

Meet the New Partners:

John Bruno – A 27-year veteran at Giffels Webster, John began his career as a Survey Crew Chief and advanced to Senior Project Manager. His leadership in construction staking has positioned the firm as a trusted partner for contractors throughout the region. John studied Civil Engineering and Architecture at Lawrence Technological University and resides in Lake Orion with his wife and two sons.

Tony Gonzalez, PS – With 24 years at Giffels Webster, Tony has progressed from Survey Crew Chief to Senior Project Manager, overseeing land surveys for private and public developments across Southeast Michigan. A Michigan Technological University graduate with a B.S. in Land Surveying, Tony also played as a starting tight end for the football team. He lives in Sterling Heights with his wife and two daughters.

Dave Root, PE – Dave joined Giffels Webster 18 years ago as a Co-Op student while earning his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Now a Senior Project Manager, he specializes in private land development projects with a focus on Detroit. He resides in Rochester Hills with his wife, son, and daughter.

As partners, Bruno, Gonzalez, and Root will continue leading projects, mentoring staff, and providing exceptional client service while taking on expanded roles in firm-wide management and strategic planning.
