Giffels Webster is proud to participate in Park(ing) Day 2025, joining a global movement that reimagines how our streets and public spaces can better serve people. Each year, Park(ing) Day transforms ordinary curbside parking spaces into temporary public parks and gathering places, encouraging new ways of thinking about how we use and share our streets.
As a multidisciplinary consulting firm, our mission is to help communities and businesses thrive through innovative planning, design, and infrastructure solutions. Our team of civil engineers, planners, landscape architects, GIS specialists, and surveyors bring unique expertise to projects of all sizes, from neighborhood parks and riverfront trails to sustainable stormwater systems and complete streetscapes. We believe that well-designed, reclaimed green infrastructure is not just beneficial, but essential for creating healthier, more resilient cities.
Park(ing) Day resonates deeply with our work and values. It challenges us to reimagine underutilized urban spaces, sparking conversations about mobility, equity, sustainability, and the role public spaces play in community life. By temporarily reclaiming a parking space, we shine a light on the potential of our shared environment to serve people first—creating spaces that foster connection, well-being, and environmental stewardship.
This year, our Park(ing) Day theme is “Cookies and Conversations.” We invite colleagues, clients, partners, and community members to stop by for a cookie and meaningful conversation about reclaiming and reshaping the spaces around us. Join us on Friday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (EDT), in the parking lot across from our Birmingham office at 1025 East Maple, Suite 100, Birmingham, MI 48009. A simple act, gathering over a sweet treat, can open the door to big ideas about how to make our streets safer, greener, and more welcoming for all.
At Giffels Webster, we see Park(ing) Day not just as a one-day event, but as part of a larger movement toward vibrant, connected communities. We look forward to the conversations and connections this year’s event will inspire. Learn more about Park(ing) Day at myparkingday.org.
