An internship with Giffels Webster is more than a temporary role. It is a gateway to your professional journey. Over the course of 12 weeks, interns join a supportive team environment where learning, collaboration, and real-world experience come together. Interns are fully integrated into daily operations and gain the tools, insights, and confidence they need to grow into successful professionals.
Each internship begins with an in-person welcome. Interns arrive at their assigned office location, meet their mentors and peers, and tour the facilities to get a sense of the space they will call home for the summer. The onboarding continues with a walk-through of previous projects and an introduction to current job sites. Interns also have the chance to explore key areas of ongoing project locations, seeing firsthand how concepts on paper take shape in the real world.
Throughout the program, interns participate in a variety of experiences that go beyond technical work. Team lunches offer informal time to build relationships with staff members across disciplines. Presentations on topics ranging from project management to GIS technologies broaden their understanding of the industries we serve and the communities we support.
Interns are assigned tasks that develop their professional and technical skills. Working alongside experienced civil engineers, planners, surveyors, and landscape architects, and GIS specialists, they contribute to actual projects. Interns assist with site research, plan preparation, and client deliverables. They are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, and apply their classroom knowledge in new and practical ways.
We look for candidates with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who are eager to learn, enjoy teamwork, and bring strong communication and analytical skills. Interns leave the program with hands-on experience, expanded networks, and a clearer vision for their future.
