Giffels Webster is proud to celebrate Nancy Standish, PE, LEED-AP, Partner and Civil Engineer, on being named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’ Notable Leaders in Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC).
This recognition honors professionals who are helping shape the future of the built environment through leadership, mentorship, company growth and meaningful contributions to their communities. Nancy’s inclusion reflects the impact she has made across Southeast Michigan during her 20 years with Giffels Webster, where she has helped guide a wide range of civil engineering projects and supported the next generation of engineering talent.
As a partner at Giffels Webster, Nancy manages and mentors a civil engineering team that works on residential, commercial, municipal, park and institutional developments. Her leadership is rooted in collaboration, technical excellence and a deep understanding of how thoughtful infrastructure and site design can strengthen communities.
One of Nancy’s most notable recent accomplishments is her work on Mystic Cove, a 47-residence luxury multifamily redevelopment in Lake Orion. The project required a careful balance of engineering, environmental sensitivity and community context. Nancy led efforts to stabilize the lakeshore, preserve important site features and integrate the new development with nearby historic community structures. Residents began moving in last August, marking a major milestone for a project that reflects both technical precision and respect for place.
Beyond project delivery, Nancy is known for her commitment to mentorship. She supports engineers as they develop their skills, grow their confidence and take on more complex responsibilities. Her steady guidance helps build strong teams and reinforces Giffels Webster’s culture of learning and leadership.
Nancy is also active outside the office. She is a member of the Home Builders Association of Michigan and volunteers at her son’s school, demonstrating the same spirit of service that defines her professional work.
Nancy’s recognition is a testament to the care, expertise and leadership she brings to every project and every team she supports. Her work continues to strengthen communities across Southeast Michigan while helping Giffels Webster deliver thoughtful, lasting solutions for the people and places we serve.
