Giffels Webster Volunteers with Make Food Not Waste to Support Local Hunger Relief

Community Involvement

At Giffels Webster, making a positive impact means more than planning and engineering. It means stepping into the community and lending a hand where it is needed most. Members of our team joined forces with Make Food Not Waste to support an initiative focused on reducing food waste and addressing hunger.

Our volunteers spent the day at the Salvation Army kitchen in Detroit, helping to prepare fresh vegetables for meals served to individuals and families facing food insecurity. These meals are created by talented chefs who transform surplus ingredients into healthy, delicious dishes that nourish the community.

This hands-on experience highlighted the importance of sustainability, collaboration, and compassion. Through the efforts of Make Food Not Waste, food that might otherwise be discarded is rescued and turned into meaningful support for those in need.

The event was an opportunity for our team to contribute in a direct and personal way. It reminded us how powerful community partnerships can be when working toward shared goals. Taking time away from our usual projects to give back reinforced our commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities.

We are proud to support organizations like Make Food Not Waste, whose work aligns with our core values. The dedication we witnessed in the kitchen was both inspiring and humbling.

This effort is part of our ongoing commitment to service. By supporting local nonprofits and volunteering our time, we aim to foster stronger connections and make a lasting difference. Every act of service, big or small, helps build a healthier, more supportive community.

Thank you to our Giffels Webster team members for showing up with energy and enthusiasm, and to Make Food Not Waste for the opportunity to be a part of something meaningful. We look forward to continuing our involvement in projects that create real, lasting impact for the people and places we serve.
